More Confident and Comfortable...

Taking technology courses which are geared toward information centers has interested me as I believe this is crucial in the LIS profession. At the beginning of this course I knew this course would focus on hands-on experience in terms of technology. My expectations would be that I would feel more confident and comfortable with working in digital collections. I definitely feel more comfortable in working with servers and software although I know I am not an expert. I am also more comfortable with technology terms so I can better communicate with IT personnel. There is a lot of information to digest from this course. I feel that I have somewhat of a good understanding of all we have completed; nonetheless, I may not appreciate its importance until I am actually confronted with a technology situation whether it is at work or at home. This course has reinforced my perspective in regards to the importance being exposed to and knowing the basics of digital information as it plays a major role in the library science environment. In addition, this course builds confidence to learn more about digital information and technology and to build on hands-on experience.
